MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC
In a restaurant is a constant cacophony of sound.
From the voices of guests to the scraping of cutlery on plates to the noises from the kitchen, what you hear is more than just the music in the background. And all of these aural elements compete with each other, with the potential to negatively affect your attempts at ambiance. If your music is too loud, or the noises from the kitchen are overpowering, guests are forced to shout to hear one another. Guests can be turned off by an overwhelming amount of noise. You have to understand your target audience and bar, restaurant or lounge. Are you a noisy pub where the latest sports game is being played on massive televisions and beer is the drink of choice? Are you fast-casual, family-oriented? Are you fine-dining?
